Boughton Wood Lodge, Northamptonshire

Nestled in a magical woodland setting, Boughton Wood Lodge is a striking new family home designed by Adam Architecture. This project was a pleasure to work on, bringing together craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and the finest materials to create a space that feels both timeless and functional.

The kitchen, larder, boot room, and laundry room were all designed with a focus on quality and longevity. British ash and FSC birch ply form the foundation of the cabinetry, chosen for their durability and character. The client wanted a more furniture-like feel, which led to the inclusion of carefully considered details such as a solid ash prep table—a great alternative to a central island.

Architectural details played a key role in shaping the space, with Georgian cornice detailing that complements the home's tall ceilings, enhancing the sense of proportion and elegance. Every element was tailored to the setting, ensuring the kitchen and adjoining spaces harmonised with the architectural vision.

This was a hugely rewarding project, made all the more enjoyable by the collaborative design process with wonderful clients. We explored ideas and refined details to create a kitchen that truly suits their home and lifestyle. The result is a beautifully crafted space that balances traditional joinery with contemporary functionality, designed to be lived in and loved for years to come.
