Birtle & Co. designs and builds fine handmade kitchens in Norfolk, combining traditional craftsmanship with thoughtful design. Every project is personal, made to last, and created with integrity and care.

Birtle & Co. was founded and is run by Harry Boyt — a designer and craftsman with a lifelong passion for working with wood and creating enduring, beautiful things. Before founding the company, Harry trained as a furniture maker with distinction and worked as a carpenter restoring historic timber-framed buildings. He went on to serve for over a decade in the British Army, where precision, discipline, and attention to detail became second nature — qualities that now underpin everything made in the Birtle & Co. workshop.

Harry believes that a kitchen should be treated as fine furniture — not a collection of fitted units, but handcrafted pieces designed to suit both the people who use them and the homes they belong to. Each project is developed collaboratively with clients, balancing thoughtful design, practical living, and timeless style. Every kitchen is built to last, using ethically sourced materials that meet the highest environmental standards.

At the heart of Birtle & Co. is a small and trusted team. Lee, who joined in 2023, brings over twenty years of cabinet-making experience and a deep understanding of fine joinery. Working alongside Harry, he helps ensure that each project — from first cut to final fitting — meets the company’s uncompromising standards.

Together, they form Birtle & Co. — a Norfolk workshop dedicated to making kitchens with integrity, character, and longevity. With Zuma, the workshop whippet, never far from the bench, the team continues to grow, maintaining the same belief that has guided the company from the start: make it well, make it last, and make it personal.
