Corner Cottage, Suffolk

This handmade kitchen island was designed to transform the layout of an existing Suffolk cottage kitchen. By refocusing the cooking area to one side, the new island allows the cook a sense of calm and space while creating a sociable spot for family and friends, with seating for two at the end.

Painted in Farrow & Ball’s Charlotte’s Locks and finished with unlacquered brass hardware, the island is topped with a full-stave Grown in Britain ash worktop, adding warmth, colour and texture. A simple addition that completely changes how the kitchen feels and functions — practical, characterful and beautifully made.
